Today is the 2nd anniversary of Riley's 17th birthday.

I miss him! But from what I hear, he's growing into a great young man!

10 Days of Grace day 7

She loves being a sister. Big sister, little sister- doesn't matter to her. She just loves her siblings.

10 days of Grace day 6

She loves to sleep. And yes, I love that about her. That means, I still get a nap in the afternoon if I need it. Even if she doesn't fall asleep she loves to cuddle up next to me while we watch a movie. And she's almost always one of the first kids to fall asleep at night- shortly after 7pm.

10 Days of Grace days 1-5

So I'm a bad mom. I totally spaced and forgot to get these posted. So in one big post here are 5 flashback pics.
So 5 reasons I love Grace:

*She's a spitfire. She stands up for herself and then some! She's never the first one to back down. This is completely opposite of me, as I will usually back down even when I'm right just to avoid confrontation. I admire that about her.

*She's the "class clown" She's always looking for a laugh, and more often than not- she gets it!

*She doesn't fit into the 'mold' She defies all labels- she's not a tomboy, but she's not a girly girl either- she is just....Grace.

*Those eyes- we receive so many comments on them when we go out- and I have to admit- I love them too. I hope they stay that color. Simply breathtaking.

*Her love. She loves people. She takes an interest in people, even strangers. I'm always asked- "whats their name?" , "Is she sad?" etc. She notices people, and takes a great interest in them.
Reminds me to slow down sometimes and be more observant of those around me.

Mommy's Little Rock Star

One of the things Aaron and I got Matthew for his birthday was this little guitar, it plays more current songs, like Allstar by Smashmouth, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Love Shack, and a couple others that I don't remember right now. No words, just music of course- but he loves it. He's even started making up his own songs- his current hit? "I want you" Lyrics as follows: "I want you mommy, I want you daddy, I want you sissy, I want you gammy, I want you george, I want you connor, I want you gace, I want you jojo, I want you nana, I want you pawpaw, I want you teve, I want you gamma, I want you, I want you, I want yooooouuuuu"

I only hear it about 20 times a day lol

Happy 2nd Birthday Matthew!!!

Hard to believe 2 years ago today I was laying in a hospital room waiting for the "real" labor to begin. It was about this time that things got moving. I was nervous because I had never been through an induction before, but we made it didn't we little guy?

Ten Days of Matthew- Day 10

His spunk. I don't know what it is about our boys, but they both have had rough things happen to them. Is it a boy thing? I have no clue. But he comes through it like a trooper, nothing keeps him down for long.

He loves people- we'll be driving down the road and he's in the backseat waving at people in other cars. 'Hi!" It cracks me up, but you know what? It puts a smile on the faces of the people who notice him.

I love that he gives people nick names. Its one of his newest things, he just randomly picks a name and thats what a person is called. We've had "Nani" and "Ana", and "Nina" and "LeeLee"
Which are NO where near these people's actual names- well except for LeeLee.

His laugh. Have you ever heard this boy really truly laugh? You can't help but laugh along with him. Its infectious!

GONE....OK?

Matthew has something new. It started when I let him have the rest of my drink one day. The other kids swarmed around him asking for a drink, and even though there was some left, he hugged it to his body looked at them and said "dink GONE.....Ok?" then proceeded to polish it off. I think its his way of saying 'this is mine, you aren't getting it, now back off!'
We let him open his gifts at Connor's party since Aaron's parents aren't going to be able to come up two weeks in a row. When he opened the movie from us, he got excited, then noticed all the other kids getting excited. He gripped that movie, and in no uncertain terms "Wadee GONE...Ok?"

Maybe we should have named Matthew, Chandler. This seems to be almost all I get these days, unless he's unaware I'm taking his picture.

More of Connor's birthday party highlight pics soon to come. It was a blast, we all had a ton of fun. We missed all our old friends though. First birthday party away from home felt odd.
