What a shocker! Not! :P

You're 80% Irish

Congratulations, you're a shining example of an Irish lass (or lad).

There's hardly anyone more Irish than you!

First Day of School

The first day of school went great! Both kids did exceptionally well- as did I. I expected a little sadness when I dropped them off, but there was none. I'm very excited for them. They both loved their teachers, and made new friends. Connor had a purple day- which he explained is a very good day. Lets hope it continues.
Grace loved being in charge of the tv/xbox. Matthew enjoyed napping in a quiet house. :)

Its the most wonderful time of the year!

Tomorrow is the first day of school! Yay! I've been looking forward to this!
The backpacks are packed, the first day of school clothes are set to the side- but where is that other shoe???
Why is it that one shoe constantly goes missing- and as soon as you find it- the one you had in the first place is gone! I hate shoe hunting.
So as I hunt for Connor's missing shoe- and hope that Sadie's shoes are in the same place I put them last week- I try to avoid the thought that I have a first and third grader! Next year this time I'll be packing Grace up for her first day of Kindergarten, sending Connor to Second grade and Sadie to Fourth! Where has the time gone???

Wow

11-27-07
8-16-08

What a difference almost a year makes! I didn't realize how much we had changed until I saw this picture from our anniversary. We've both lost weight, and made changes! WOW is all I can say. What do you think?

Lab Results

Doctor's office just called. All labs are normal.

I should be happy- but it frustrates me- not that I want something to be wrong- but something isn't right, and I was hoping the bloodwork would give us some insight on how to fix it.

Doctor Visit

Yesterdays Doctor visit was uneventful really. The doctor isn't quite sure what is wrong with me. Its always comforting when the man you go to for medical advice stands there and looks at you like you have two heads for five minutes.
They drew a bunch of blood work, and put me on progesterone. We'll see what the blood work shows, see if the meds help and then go from there.
I had no complaints about the office though, so thats good.

Baseball and Prayers

Mark was able to get us free tickets to tonights Air Hogs game. It really was a lot of fun.
The kids spent most of the game at the playground- which is monitored by staff members, has a little basketball court, mini golf, etc. We were playing the Shreveport Sports funny enough. We won, 3-2. I think the games will be a family favorite activity next year.

Now for the prayers part Tuesday I go to a new doctor up here. I've been having some 'monthly' trouble for a while, and I have been putting off going to the doctor. Its gotten to where I will get lightheaded and pass out, and generally feel horrid. Anyway, like I've said- I have put off getting checked out- because thats the most unpleasant dr to visit. But once we moved up here that was one of the first things J made me do was make an appt. So I go Tuesday at 3pm. Pray for me- pray that this will not be a long drawn out thing to fix, and pray that I make it to the dr's and back ok. I have to go by myself and the dr is in Arlington.

A little note...

A few days ago my best friend, Jayme, found out that one of her aunts has breast cancer.
This is not the first time her family has been struck by this unfair disease. Cancer doesn't play fair. She has family that has survived, and family that has passed from the same disease.
I have been a shoulder for her, and will continue to stand by her side through what is sure to be ups and downs. I plan to do everything in my power to be there with her as she goes and gets "squeezed".

On October 18th I will be walking by her side as we complete the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Watch for a donation button too. I will be walking in memory of her family as well as a close family friend of mine that passed, and in support of her aunt who was recently diagnosed.
Also hop over to my photo blog to see what is going on over there in the month of October!

If you are at risk, or are of the age to begin getting mammograms, PLEASE go!!! I love you all! Go get squeezed! Its so worth it in the end!

Edit: If you would like to show support- or even just offer prayers- visit Norma on her blog

Hangin In There...

Yes we are. Hanging in there. We just finished our first full week up here. Aaron has settled in nicely so far to his routine. It takes me some getting used to, because he gets home about an hour later than he was before, but once I get used to it I will be ok. I've visted malls, Gaylord Texan- where the above pictures were taken- and Traders Village. Oh, and also DFW airport. lol
My grandparents flew in to Dallas on their way home from Colorado, and since we didn't get to see them before we moved we went to the airport to say hi.
It was hard to say good-bye, but I'm glad we went.
We've watched a couple good movies lately- both Tyler Perry movies. lol The first one was Meet the Browns- very good, very funny! Then tonight we watched Why did I get Married. Again, very good- but this one was more heartfelt than funny, although it did have its parts.
A few weeks ago, we watched Daddy's Little Girls- another Tyler Perry movie, it was also very very good, again, a more heartfelt than funny. But still very good. I'd recomend all of them.
Tomorrow starts the week again, and marks the two week countdown to the first day of school. I bought the kids backpacks, and lunch bags, we'll be getting supplies on Saturday- They each have their first day of school outfit folded neatly in their backpacks.
I'm really hoping and praying for a good school year for each of them. Connor will be in the first grade (ack!) and Sadie the third (double ACK!)
Where has the time gone?
I was going to attempt to put Grace in Pre-K, but have decided against it, I'm going to keep her home instead. I will be getting the Teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons book again for her (our old copy was ruined when our garage flooded) and she got a workbook from grandma for her birthday, so I'll work with her an hour or so a day at home. Next year this time- we'll be getting her ready for Kindergarten!!!! (*sniff*)

Ramblings of an Insomniac

I heard about scrapblog a few weeks ago, and just never got around to playing with it until now. So what do you think? I love having new headers- and I also created one for our wedding blog over here.
Its almost the weekend YEAH! This week has gone by fast, and things are going pretty well. Aaron is getting adjusted to riding the train, and getting adjusted to new surroundings.
The kids are doing well- having a blast with friends. I'm hanging in there as well. Having a few twinges of homesickness here and there- and one minor OMGosh what have we done moment. But it passed, and I still have an overall peace about the entire move.
Just a little over three weeks until we move into our own house. I'm so thankfull to Jayme and Mark for letting us stay here, but it will be nice to be in our own place, surrounded by our own things again.
School starts in just over two weeks. Sadie got a lunch box for her birthday, I picked one up for Connor today, as well as a first day of school shirt, and each of them a backpack. Jayme and I will go next Friday and get the rest of their school supplies.
We went to a mall today- it was rather amusing as we parked, the kids wanted to know why we were at the doctors office. I was confused until it donned on me, that the only time they have ever been in a parking garage is at the doctors. lol We had to explain to them that we were at a mall, not the dr. But I don't think they believed us until we got inside.
I've run out of things to say, and I'm sure none of this runs together well. Hence the ramblings title. :) Off to scrapblog some more and try to get tired!

Aarons Haircut

Its hard to really tell in the picture- but for the "before" just look at my sidebar. lol Even though that pic is a year old- like I said he's had the same haircut since highschool. What do you think?

Little Update

Today was Aarons first day of work at the office up here.
I talked to him a little bit ago- and its been an exciting day for him. lol
Started out when he took a wrong turn going to the train station, and got turned around. He made it to work a bit late, but all is ok now. Then, when I spoke to him everyone was standing outside because the fire alarms had gone off and there were special ops, firetrucks and ambulances there. He texted me and told me they are back inside now, so I guess I'll get the full story tonight when he gets home.
We've had a bit of an adventure here at home as well- trying to figure out what school the kids will go to. Apparently the boundary lines online are outdated, and the school they wanted the kids to go to is almost two miles away from our new house. So, what we are finding out now is that since we will still be living with Jayme when school starts, they will be able to start, and finish out the school year at this school which is only .6 of a mile from the house. Then I'll be able to put in transfer requests to keep them here. Its been a bit frusrating, and a lot of it doesn't make sense to me, but I know it will all work out.

Oh, on another note- Aaron got his haircut yesterday. Not normally, blog worthy- but he has had the exact same haircut since highschool, and I finally talked him into changing it- so he now has a style and has to use a little bit of *gasp!* product on his hair in the mornings. But I think it looks really good- I'll take a pic tonight when he gets home. I was to tired this morning. lol

The kids are doing well, and are adjusting as well as can be expected.
As I anticipated, Connor is having the hardest time with the change- but thats just his personality. I think he will do really well once we are in our own place and he is surrounded with all of his own things again.

House Pictures

Front of the house
Part of the backyard
The deck- needs to be cleaned off- but its really going to be a nice outside eating area when we are through. :)

Moved and House

Well we are moved up to GP staying with friends. We made it safe and sound last night.
We looked at a house this morning- and fell in love. Its actually the same landlords as our friends- so we know they are good people. It has an enclosed garage which we will be using as our bedroom, a large kitchen and laundry room- and a very large backyard. Pics to follow. :) At least of the outside. I forgot the camera this morning when we looked at the inside.
Aaron starts work up here Monday morning- so think of him. The kids are good- Connor is having some stress issues, but that was anticipated. I took him over to see the house just a little bit ago, and he also got to see his new school- and I think that helped him feel not so lost.
Toodles for now! :)
