Going to a Wedding

My brother is getting married- Yeah! So happy for him. Don't think we'll be seeing this reaction out of him though!
www.couchlessmoores.blogspot.com

Had to throw that in there. Anyway we leave Thurs for vacation. So I'll be MIA a bit- but be ready for pic overload when we get back!

Very Exciting News

This past weekend I set up a small display at the garage sale I had with my grandmother. My proof book, some framed pics, biz cards etc.
Several people took cards and pens and commented.
Sunday I wanted to go to church despite how exhausted we all were. I was glad we did- the sermon was on God answering us when we pray. I started praying for confirmation in my business. I'm planning on making some new equipment purchases before the end of the year, and I didn't want to invest a ton of money if this wasn't what I was supposed to be doing. So, I started praying.
Last night as I was talking to my dad on the computer, the phone rang and it was a lady who had seen my display at the sale- she was blown away (her words not mine) with my work. She had me on a three way call with her friend in Houston. They hired me to shoot the Jefferson High School 40 year reunion!!!!!!!!!!!! Its going to be a black tie affair- very fancy pants. With a carpet arrival etc.
They are paying me a fee, and then all the prints will be ordered from me (at least 45 8x10s)
I am SO excited- and this is HUGE confirmation. :-)
Made my day for sure.

To Tired to Sleep....

well I think the title says it all. I worked a garage sale all day today- was up late last night.
Garage sale went well though- hoping for another great day tomorrow.
I won't be working it though, thank goodness. I will be preparing my home for sitters, and then Aaron and I will be leaving town around 3:30 and headed for the Trace Adkins concert. I am VERY excited. :)
I'm also stressing a bit about how everything is going to manage to get done. I just have no clue.
Tomorrow will be busy, Sunday is church, and then a photoshoot, then I'm doing school. Monday I will be editing, Tuesday I have company and have to run to the school to register Grace for Pre-K, Wednesday is my only "free" day to pack, clean and prepare. We leave Thursday morning.
I'm in panic mode a little bit! :-O
I'm sure it will all work out- it always does, but stressful and overwhelming to say the least.

Update your Bloglines!!!

There's a new tech blogger in town. :)

http://psiklopx.wordpress.com/

My daddy! Great info and a fun read. :)

Go ahead- add him- you know you want to.

Oh YUM!

Night before last I made these.
Go forth and make them.....now! I'll wait.
.
.
.
.
.
Aren't they wonderful???? Even Aaron liked them- so did the kids!
I don't normally fry foods, one because of my irrational fear of spitter spatter hot grease, and second because of health reasons. Its just not good for you.
But this is one of those recipes that overrides that fear, and tastes oh so good enough to be bad once and a while.

Certainly not a weekly recipe- but an occasional treat. They are great! I think next time I might try chicken instead of beef at Aaron's request.
If you make them- come back and leave me a comment- tell me what you think. :)

Have you seen my mind?

I seem to have lost it somewhere. lol

We leave one week from today- and I am no where near ready. I have so much to do, and I'm wondering when I'm going to get it done.

On a completely unrelated side note- in TWO days I get to go see Trace Adkins!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so unbelievably excited. Tickets are here, sitter is in place. WooHoo!
I'll try to take a ton of pictures- we all know how thats such a problem for me. ROFL!

My Hair

I had my friend Jayme do my hair. And yes, I love it. It took some getting used to because its so different, but I really do love it. :)
I'm hoping that by the time it will need to be touched up will be about the time she's back down here. lol

The kit only cost 7 bucks- so it won't be pricy to keep up.

I've only had one person say they didn't like it. Everyone else loves it.
I really like it- I feel sassy! :P

What I'm Up To.

Posts may be scarce for a while- I'll try to update at least once a week, however I am incredibly busy.

*Schoolwork- things are going great- I'm pulling high grades in both classes, however now that we near the end, the projects and assignments are getting harder. This is taking up a lot of my time.

*Business- Again, things are going great! I have more business than I ever thought I'd have. I have two sessions on Friday, another on the 20th, and one scheduled for the Monday after we get back from San Antonio.

*Family- things are better than ever. The kids are great- Connor is in Tae Kwon Do and loving it, its helped him so much. The other three are wonderful. Aaron was diagnosed with sleep apnea and is now sleeping with a cpap machine- once he gets used to it I think it will help him a ton.
We are doing great as a couple- and we're becoming more uninted as parents which is awesome.
We're looking forward to our date day on the 19th. Our friends are watching all the kids here at the house, and we're going to a Trace Adkins concert. I am VERY excited. :)
God has blessed us greatly, and we aren't struggling as much as we were financially. In part to my business I'm sure- but also because we've become more responsible with where we spend our money. He's due for an other raise in mid May too, and he's doing awesome at work- so it will be a nice one.

Our friends the Tackers are coming down from Grand Prairie this weekend, which will be fun. He gets to come this time too- and usually its just her and the kids. We leave the 24th for vacation. Its coming up quickly!

Sin

Isn't God amazing? He accomplishes what humans will never be able to.

Acts 3:19 says: "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord"

How cool is that? When we repent our sins are WIPED OUT- no more. Gone. Forgiven. They do not exist anymore.
Psalm 103:11-12 says, "For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."

Four times in the Bible God says "their sin I will remember no more"
(Isa 43:25, Jer 31:34, Heb 8:12, 10:17)

How refreshing is that? I know I'm rejoicing in that fact today.
Like I mentioned, I know that humans don't have the capacity to forget like God does- but he does call us to forgive like he does
Ephesians 4:32 says, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

What this means to me is that yes, while we may remember what someone did, and we may remember someones sin- if they ask for our forgiveness, when we grant it we are telling them, not only I forgive you, but also I will not use this against you in the future- I will not dangle this over your head and make you feel guilty about it in the future.

No one today can stand and say that they have never sinned against someone, and no one can say they have not had someone sin against them.

Rejoice with me today- as I rejoice in the knowledge that I am fully forgiven by my Lord and Savior.
My sin has no control over me anymore.

I. Am. Happy.

Bottle Blues

Matthew has reached that 'magic' age of 12 months. I've been trying for the past two to get him to take a sippy cup. He has rejected exactly 5 different cups. He is the only one of my kids who has not wanted to take a sippy. He's also the only one of my kids who has been on the bottle since birth, so I'm sure thats got something to do with it. I haven't done anything different with him than I did the other kids though, around 10 months bought him his first cup, starting working with him and he spit at me!

Well we continued to work on it, last night I saw a new kind of sippy for only 97 cents, so I picked one up. Well, wouldn't you know, the spitting is back.
I know its early, but does anyone have any tips?

I'd rather not run out and spend $7 on a sippy if he's just going to scream and throw it across the room. lol I have actually considered putting slow flow nipples back in his bottle to frustrate him some, and make him lean towards the sippy. I don't know if that would work though.

April Fools!!

This is what I served the kids for dinner. Can you spot why its an April Fools joke? *hint- its not the milk.
The "grilled cheese" was pound cake that I broiled and then put orange frosting in the middle to look like melted cheese
The "cupcake" was actually meatloaf with colored mashed potatoes on top for frosting
Oooh yummy!
Sadie was the first one to take a bite and spill the beans. lol Her expression of shock was priceless. :-)
